How to Choose a Metal Detector in Peshawar

Every week we get the same question at our Peshawar shop: "which detector should I buy?" The honest answer depends less on brand names and more on three things — your budget, the ground you’ll actually search, and what you’re hoping to find.

1. Decide your budget band first

Entry-level machines in the PKR 150,000–250,000 range (Garrett ACE 200i/300i, Nokta Simplex Lite) are built for hobbyists — simple controls, light weight, good for parks and open fields. Mid-range units (PKR 300,000–800,000) add multi-frequency detection and better discrimination for trashy or mineralised ground. Above that, you’re into dedicated gold-prospecting and professional relic-hunting territory.

2. Match the detector to your ground

• Dry, rocky ground around Peshawar and the surrounding hills — look for strong ground-balance control and a Pulse Induction or multi-frequency option for mineralised soil.
• Parks, fields and old settlement sites — a general-purpose VLF machine with good discrimination is usually enough.
• Riverbeds and wet ground — waterproof coils matter more than raw depth.

3. Buy from someone who’ll support the warranty locally
