Minelab GPX 5000 overview
Released in 2010, the GPX 5000 comes from an earlier generation of Minelab's pulse induction line. It blends MPS, DVT and SETA in a bi-level pulse design, with eight soil timings: General, Deep, Hi-Mineral, Patch, Hi-Trash, Coin/Relic, Salt/Gold and Fine Gold. Ground balance can be fixed or tracking, with Quick-Trac. A 64x128 pixel LCD has a white backlight, with audio on a 6.35 mm jack.
It is not waterproof, so it suits dry gullies, rocky slopes and mineralised ground in the north better than creek crossings. Experienced users near Swat and the Indus can change timings as soil shifts. The detector weighs 5.3 lb and the 68 Wh lithium-ion battery 1.7 lb, giving about 12 hours. Customers checking the Minelab GPX 5000 price in Peshawar should expect two coils (11-inch round Double-D and 15x12-inch Monoloop), a charger for the car and 100 ohm Koss headphones. Minelab's 3-year limited warranty applies.
